Port Aransas Boat Rentals LLC, d/b/a Port A Boat Rentals (“we,” “us,” or “our”), respects
your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your
choices. It applies to our website and the reservation process. Additional privacy
disclosures specific to your rental — including GPS monitoring, media consent, and
waiver documentation — are contained in the Liability Waiver and Vessel Rental
Agreement signed at the dock.
We are Port Aransas Boat Rentals LLC, a Texas limited liability company operating out of
Island Moorings Yacht Club, Port Aransas, Texas. Our vessels are owned by Freedom
Waves LLC, an affiliated entity under common ownership. Both entities may access
operational and incident records as described below
When you visit our website or make a reservation, we collect:
• Contact and identity information — name, date of birth, phone, email, and mailing
address
• Government-issued ID details and, where required by Texas law, your Boater
Education Certificate number
• Reservation details — rental dates, vessel, package type, add-on selections, and
payment information processed securely through our third-party payment
processor
• Boat Club membership and billing records
• Website usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and cookies
Additional information is collected at the dock through your signed rental documents,
including emergency contact details, vessel condition attestations, and any disclosures
made in the Liability Waiver.
• Process and manage your reservation or Boat Club membership
• Verify eligibility and compliance with Texas boating laws prior to departure
• Communicate booking confirmations, pre-trip reminders, and post-rental follow-
up
• Manage payments and credit card authorization holds
• Enforce our rental agreements and respond to incidents, damage claims, and
insurance matters
• Send marketing communications where you have opted in — you can opt out at
any time
• Improve our website and services
• Comply with applicable Texas and federal law
All rental vessels are equipped with Boatfix GPS tracking and speed monitoring. By
renting a vessel, you consent to real-time location and speed data collection throughout
your rental period. This data is used to enforce safety boundaries, document compliance,
and support incident investigation. Full disclosure is provided in your Liability Waiver.
We document vessel condition before and after every rental using time-stamped photos
and video. These records are used for damage assessment and dispute resolution. With
your consent — provided through the media release in your Liability Waiver — we may
also use photos and video captured during your rental for marketing and social media.
You may withdraw marketing consent for future rentals by contacting us at
hello@portaboatrentals.com.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
• Freedom Waves LLC — our affiliated vessel-owning entity, for operational and
insurance purposes
• Service providers — Storable Stellar IMS (booking), VQuip (waivers), Boatfix
(GPS), and our payment processor. Each is bound to use your data only to provide
services on our behalf
• The harbor authority, Coast Guard, or other regulatory bodies when required by
law or safety
• Legal counsel, insurers, or courts in connection with an incident, claim, or dispute
We retain rental records, signed waivers, and documentation for a minimum of five
years. GPS data is retained for a minimum of 90 days, or longer if an open claim requires
it. Website analytics data is retained per our analytics provider’s standard schedule.
Marketing consent records are retained for the duration of your guest relationship.
Our website uses cookies to support the booking process and analyze site usage. You can
control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect
reservation functionality. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, as no uniform
standard exists.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any
time, subject to our legal retention obligations. To opt out of marketing emails, use the
unsubscribe link in any email or contact us directly. We will acknowledge data requests
within five business days and resolve them within thirty days.
We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. California residents may
contact us to request a summary of information collected and its purposes.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your
information. In the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as
required by Texas law. No electronic transmission is 100% secure.
We may update this policy at any time. Changes will be posted here with a revised
effective date. Continued use of our services after posting constitutes acceptance. Active
Boat Club members will receive direct email notice of material changes.
